Team Spirit player Danil Kryshkovets, also known as donk, has announced that he will be splitting the MVP prize for the recent 2v2 CS2 tournament, the Evelone Duo Cup, with his teammate Ilya Osipov, known as m0NESY. The announcement was made during a stream hosted by Banks. Despite the award, Kryshkovets expressed his belief that the recognition was not entirely deserved, emphasizing the crucial role played by G2 Esports AWPer who carried the team throughout the competition.
Securing the top spot at the Evelone Duo Cup, Donk and m0NESY emerged victorious. Kryshkovets claimed the MVP title along with a cash prize of $10,000, and an additional $5,000 for achieving two knife kills during the tournament. M0NESY, on the other hand, also showcased a stellar performance, securing one knife kill and winning an extra $2,500 from the event organizers.
The highly anticipated Evelone Duo Cup spanned from January 5 to 6, boasting a substantial prize pool of $230,000. The tournament witnessed the participation of renowned players such as s1mple, broky, and rain, among others. In a thrilling grand final best-of-five series, Donk and m0NESY emerged triumphant against the Spirit Academy duo comprising Oleg Kulynych and Maxim Lukin, also known as baz and kyousuke, with an impressive final score of 3:0.
