Quinn Callahan's Commentary on Dota 2 Exploit

Gaimin Gladiators midlaner Quinn 'Quinn' Callahan recently brought attention to a significant exploit in Dota 2 that exposed Immortal Draft matches and professional teams' scrims. During an episode of the All Chat podcast, he expressed curiosity about the website's longevity and whether pro players were aware of it. This revelation, initially shared by Capitalist on Reddit, stirred discussions within the Dota 2 community.

The exploit was promptly addressed on May 1, following the emergence of initial references to gabenshole.com in Russian media a few days earlier. The exact duration of the website's existence remains uncertain, with speculation suggesting it was established post a patch preventing access to high-rank pub reviews.

According to the self-proclaimed hacker, the loophole was discovered post an update, referring to themselves as an amateur and criticizing the restriction of high-MMR game visibility to the public. Valve's subsequent update on March 19 restricted access to replays and data from Immortal Draft matches above 8.5k MMR. The move aimed to enhance the diversity of professional Dota 2 matches, receiving mixed reactions from the community.
