G2 Esports CEO Discusses Decision on Oleksandr 's1mple' Kostyliev

G2 Esports' CEO Alban "Stilgar" Dechelotte has expressed his reservations about including Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev in the team following the departure of Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov. Stilgar cited factors such as age and s1mple's dedication to CS2 as reasons for his belief. During the HLTV Confirmed podcast, the CEO emphasized that while s1mple could be appealing from a marketing standpoint, the team's primary focus remains on competitive prowess.

Despite fans' hopes for s1mple to fill the vacant AWPer role at G2, the organization has opted to bring in Polish sniper Aleksander "hades" Miskievicz on loan instead. Hades will be competing for G2 until the conclusion of the BLAST.tv Austin Major in 2025.

The G2 CEO also shed light on recent roster changes, revealing that the team declined to re-enlist Nikola "NiKo" Kovac after his brief stint with the Falcons in 2023. NiKo's return to G2 was only facilitated due to arrangements made with other players and additional agreements.
